Here's a fun comparison including this drum: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SidowGgHp5M

I bought and it's good. Though I've only played like three sessions, lol. It's my fault because I buy too much shit and have like a 5 year gaming backlog.

There's a welcome newsletter 15% off coupon for new purchases that can't stack with this promo, but looks like that is a better deal on the regular price?

It's an unofficial website.
It sure tried to look official though. Can't find any review or extra info on it.

I guess the words "Officially Licensed by Bandai Namco & Nintendo" didn't mean anything.

I wonder if it would be for more than one item off the entire purchase. Also I'd take it would have to wait for the sale to end to then use the coupon right?

It's even more expensive there. There's no win at the 75$ free shipping mark.

I had a pair of these for my PS2 several years ago. It was fun way to get my wife, an non-gamer, to play. Also had fun busting them out at parties. It's something anyone can jump on play.

But at $126 for a pair, plus the cost of the game, we're looking at over $150 for something I'd only use occasionally. I really want it, but I'm gonna have to pass for now. Still TU for the deal, though.

I bought one of these last year, and it turned a good game into a great one. Loved it so much that I now have two of them. I LOVE rhythm games with these accessories.

The sensitivity right out of the box is pretty bad. You have to hit the drum pretty hard to register a hit. There are ways to mod it by taking it apart and fitting cork board inside the drum to improve the sensitivity. Google it and you'll find pretty detailed posts on how to do that but it'll cost you another $20 in materials.

Keep getting errors when trying to order. Giving up. Don't feel comfy sending my CC# over and over again.

I'll echo this, I was incredibly disappointed with it out of the box. I modded it with cork with the help of this creepy but very detailed guide [archive.org] (though plenty are available online, and this is technically for the slightly different PS4 controller), which definitely helped a lot, but it still isn't quite as sensitive as I wanted it to be.

Eventually I plan to replace the cork with plywood which supposedly helps even more, or maybe even go crazy like this mod [reddit.com]. If you want to do the (more reasonable) plywood mod but don't have the tools or time to cut it yourself, there's a seller on Etsy [etsy.com] who makes them. Cork is easy enough to cut with a utility knife if you want to go that route.

Sounds like it's not worth all that much trouble

I wouldn't take it too seriously. It works fine out of the box.
