Ten-inch corded sliders are my favorite miter saw configuration. Dewalt does not make one, Ridgid dropped the good one they had, and replaced it with the flimsy Delta style hinge slider system that costs a lot more. The lower tier brands still make 10" sliders, Harbor freight 90-day warranty. Skil 3-year warranty. I would pick this Skil over any of them.

Ive had mine for over a year now and ive done about 75% of our house's crowns and baseboards. Not a single issue. Still cuts like new!

Echoing what others mentioned. No one makes a good 10" sliding miter near this price. Ignoring price, I'd put this thing against dang near any 10" out there. It was square out of the box and the blade is even decent. I think I paid 300 a little over a year ago and my biggest regret was waiting so long to buy it. Also worth noting: it cuts through so no need to use sacrificial wood behind the piece for a thorough cut.

This or the Bosch 10 in dual bevel sliding miter that was on sale for $400 recently? One nice thing that the SKIL saw has that the Bosch doesn't is a shadow cut line…

The Ryobi is single bevel, Skil is double. This one is soft start, Ryobi probably isn't. There are a lot of complaints in the reviews that the Ryobi isn't accurate enough, and they regret buying it.
The only time the Ryobi would be the better buy would be if you could get it cheaper, and you plan on never using it.
