doing the people around you a real disservice making things idiot proof.
light duty things are perfectly viable options and meant for what they're meant for. besides the jacketing is the more important bit here...

Of course even if you don't exceed 15A but it's on a 15A circuit and there are other devices on it plugged into different outlets, all bets are off and even 12/3 won't help you.
15a cord is always 14 gauge. This isn't something new

You get past 50' it's not I don't believe
I'll post it up as a different deal, as many would prefer a useful 12/3 cord for not much more.
Yellow Jacket 2883 12/3 Heavy-Duty 15-Amp SJTW Contractor Extension Cord with Lighted Ends, 25-Feet [amazon.com]
That's correct. Length matters in Amp capacity of an electrical cord. A cord or string of cords longer than 50ft should be 12 gauge for 15A.
I believe I purchased these cords from Costco last year. The thing I don't like about them is they are stiff as hell which is a turnoff for me to use them for yard work. I have other 12 gauge cords that are more flexible but they cost double the Costco price.
nope.....lol
