Yes, the toe box is wide enough as I own one. And GTX means waterproof, the popular branded Gore-Tex

Can I just spray paint the weird multi rainbow sole of the UB22 black?
In reality it looks much more weird, I would not wear it without spray painting

I have these. They have Gore-Tex which means they are great as boots in snow/wet weather. VERY comfy with Ultraboost will saves your knees from impact.

I have a pair of the originals I got in 2020 to take to Iceland. They are the most versatile shoe I own, and probably my favorite shoe purchase of all time.

The new Adidas SL in women's are a great price for a very good daily running shoe. They're better than the Pegasus which is always a top choice for a daily running shoe. They're no Pro shoe but are a terrific deal at $75 shipped. They're white so they look exactly the same as the Men's in white do, for any male considering them.

There is also a code EXTRASALE for 30% off on Adidas for the items that may not qualify for the 35% off. I snagged a pair of the white Free Hiker GTX 2s for $112 (that colorway isn't part of the 35% off).

They are actually MUCH cheaper from Adidas.com right now if you combine cashback offers, groupon gift card deal, and the 30% EXTRASALE discount code.

https://www.adidas.com/us/terrex-...GV8900_690

$161 base price
-$48.30 (EXTRASALE code)
-$16.10 (Paypal Honey cashback offer, see below)
-$30 (GC deal, pay $70 for $100 https://groupon.egifter.com/promos)

Total comes out to $66.60 before tax.

The "Linen Green / Grey Three / Impact Orange" colorway can also be had for the same price if that's more your style- https://www.adidas.com/us/terrex-...Z3287.html

I actually just ordered a pair of the non-Goretex Free Hiker 2's for $55 on Tuesday to replace my old beat up OG Free Hikers. I already have another pair of Goretex Terrex shoes, otherwise I would have gotten both at these prices considering you can actually get both the standard Free Hiker 2 and Goretex versions using this deal for nearly the cost of just the Goretex version from Shop Premium Outlets. Also, worth noting that I ordered a pair of the Voyagers earlier this week from SPO and they were literally drop shipped by Adidas, so just cut out the middle man and save a lot more money.

Furthermore, Adidas had basically the same deal back in November and I got the wife a pair of Free Hiker 2's and the BCA UB22's for $60 and $55. I also got a pair of the Free Hiker CLD.RDY for $80, and they have been incredible everyday winter boots, not just for hiking.

That all being said, the wife and I absolutely love the Free Hikers for hiking. They are incredibly comfortable and keep everything out, including sand (which we hike a lot in). However, unless you absolutely need waterproof hiking boots, I would recommend getting the regular Free Hiker 2's. The Goretex versions do not breathe very well at all, especially compared to the Primeknit upper of the regular Free Hikers. Goretex does keep the water out, but my feet just end up getting soaked from sweat anyway.

Thanks for the good info. I will look into it.
