Step 1: Buy Pixel 5 from amazon ($139, good condition).
Step 2: Trade in Pixel 5 for $320 on the Google store.
Step 3: Buy Pixel 7 128GB (any color) with an effective cost of $449 - $320 + $139 = $269
Step 4: Factory reset your Pixel 5 and send the trade-in kit to the Google store
Step 5: Wait for the trade-in inspection and refund (3 - 5 business days)

Tempering, i have a pixel 7 and have a pixle 5 as a back up. payiong 150 for pixel 7 as back or or trade bait doesn;t seems like a horrible idea

Welp, just received a message that kid #2 cracked his 6 Pro--Google says $269 trade-in as long as it turns on. This might be our option if things get worse. Thanks for posting OP less for the deal and more so for a way out Wink

In most states you'll pay tax on two purchases - the trade-in phone and the P7. The trade-in doesn't refund you the tax that you paid on the P7. Effectively it takes the price up to more around the $300 range with the P5->P7 trade-in.

Thanks, even if it comes out to $300 with taxes and all, pretty good.

Edit: I did a simulation, would come out to $305 for the phone I found , i'm happy with that.

Thanks, I already did it and ended up using Amazon, was a bit more expensive, but I have more peace of mind with Amazon than eBay.

This is now competitive with the Mint deal came that back today. Just to do some personal math, my total out of pocket cost for Mint's P7 was $327 and comes with 1 year of 4GB service. With this P5 deal, my out of pocket would be $301 + $100 Google Store credit if you can find a referral coupon (probably worth like $30 in reality considering how overpriced Google Store is).

On a side note, I'm seeing an insane number of P7s on my local FB Marketplace lol. I'm not selling mine but good luck to those guys trying to make even $80 from the flip...
