The belt is long (54") and you are expected to trim/cut the belt to your size. After trimming, the cut end of the leather clips into the buckle, semi-permanently, with a spikey(?) metal clip. Then you fasten it around yourself and use the ratcheting belt buckle for day-to-day fastening.

I say "semi-permanently" because I've had mixed experience with these trim-to-fit belts. Sometimes the leather slips out of the grippy/spikey metal clip when you're putting it on or taking it off. While wearing it, the tension holds it in place. sarcasmogratis posted an amazon link above that has a video showing the process.

I bought one similar to these and i really like it, the belt buckle on the first ones seems similar to mine and mine isn't very bulky. And it's cheaper than the WOOT! ones with WAY more options...

Most reversible belts are sewn, so they are prone to wear and tear as the "leather" layers are glued together.

I really like Chaoren brand ratchet belts on Amazon. They protrude less than most ratcheting (still a little more then I wish). Have been great since I lost 5 inches in my waist the past 2 years and all my belts still fit with just a simple cut with some scissors!

Great for travel, no need to carry extra belt for black/brown. Not trash!

Yea, I mean.. It's good if you're fat and your belly sticks out further than the buckle then I guess no need to worry. But I am not YET at that stage.

I've been using mission belts since shark tank... The handful of other brands I've tried are just not even close. That being said, if you are new to ratchet belts then I would definitely give the 3 pack a shot here at this price. See if they're for you and then get yourself a mission belt next black Friday, you won't regret it.

"Genuine" leather is the particle board of leather. Full grain or top grain only if you want it to last.

Bought a handful of these, they look really nice and the quality is very good for the price. That being said, the buckle clip can slip out when wearing with tighter clothing, and/or if Carrying heavy items in pockets or under belt line however, they tend to pull the mechanism that closes down on the strap open, releasing the belt from the buckle.

This is very annoying for belts I purchased expecting to replace many of the belts I owned, and unfortunately limits the usage for me. If you are wearing regular fitting clothes and not carrying anything supported by your belt like a belt clip or something similar, these work good, but slim fit clothes or belt clips cause issues with the belt unclipping, and can lead to embarrassing moments to quickly have to re-feed the belt through the buckle without others seeing your belt has fallen apart.
