Not sure if the Amazon version is worth the upgrade fopr $200 more - may be if you have the Amazon CC with 5% off making it $120 more for 13th gen processor and DDR5 memory.

However since these are pretty much MSRP - I'd expect to be able to catch the Costco model on sale maybe sometime in the next 1-3 months at a few hundred off maybe?

This is DDR5 as well, and I am not 100% familiar with the difference in the 12th and 13th gen laptop CPUs, not sure it is much of an upgrade. Doubt we will see a meaningful sale on this anytime soon, but you never know. 🤷

Also get 2%+2% back at Costco (dependent on your membership and CC), free 2nd year warranty, free Costco tech support, and 90 day returns.

Agree with OP, but also consider a 3070ti since on gpu side they are pretty similar power wise, but power use wise the 4070 is more efficient.

What's the TGP of the GPU? All I can find is that it comes with a 200W AC power adaptor, so probably its just a 95W RTX4070?

people are arguing if it's driver a bugg or not but it seems nearly all of the 4070's are using 100wats or less regardless of what the laptop power limit is. And without dlss and frame generation and whatever, are getting soundly beaten by any full power 3070ti.
