Or Walmart has the 500GB clearanced to $15 in-store...

Downvote me all you want, doesn't change the fact that they have it. I wasn't suggesting for anyone to do anything. Just presenting the option. Apparently SDers don't like options to save money anymore. Weird.

Incredible how cheap SSD's are now. Always love telling people who aren't aware that they can add more life to their aging computers with one of these. Or buy a SATA to USB cable and you've got external Xbox storage. Man, at this price I'm really thinking about buying & figuring out why later.

EDIT: Hah, apparently bought this exact one 2 years ago for $32. Now it's half that. Great deal.

I've used several of the cheap SSDs out there. I don't know who's worse PNY or inland but they're both pretty similar when it comes to performance. After a windows install, and 3-5GB of games installed the PNY drive will be unbelievably slow. But I've used other dramless drives that don't slow down as badly as this one does.

It's better as a simple setup. Cheap laptop or desktop with a cheap SSD for basic browsing this ssd is perfect for

I downvoted because I went yesterday for one and they were sold out. It's like the minute it gets posted..it's gone. Unless Walmart has a large quantity, it's pointless to post. Hope you can use the downvotes for a Free Subway or something.
I get random down votes all the time. I got no free subways coming my way 🤔 😂

That's why it is always posted with an obligatory YMMV, and even when it's not, it should be well-known that it is.

I went to three walmarts in my area. One had 0, one had 1, another 1, per the Walmart app. I came home with 4 this evening, well over 24 hours after the deal was posted. Pro tip: nobody knows how to stock at Walmart anymore. This is why their own inventory and especially Brickseek isn't accurate lately. It requires some hunting, and knowing which "wrong" places to look. It isn't always in the correct spot on a silver platter.

So no, it's not "pointless" to post.

P.S. Subway is disgusting, and not even worth it at free.

Don't downvote me because of your bad luck on a deal I didn't post. That's just pathetic.

I downvoted you because another post told me to "Downvote me all you want". nod

P.S. If you log in on browser and switch to classic view, you won't see any votes.

There were 2 in the Saratoga, NY store yesterday when I went. I knew about them because of the SD post, but did not purchase them because I did not need them. Your experience does not represent everyone else's, so I am glad people post.

I picked up two at my local Walmart, of the 5-6 they had, and those come with a USB 3.0 to SATA adapter. (And an Acronis license, though this one could as well, no idea.)

I'd just use this on a non-crucial and non-gaming old computer/laptop or budget build.

Went to Walmart, had them, scanned at $39. Is that worth it?

Give them a day or two. Sometimes it may take a week. But it should go down to $15. Every store does them at slightly different times. Watch it carefully if it's nearby.

Edit: Also make sure you're looking at the correct one. The clearanced ones are the kits: the 500GB SSD *with* the SATA to USB cable.

Always nice having an extra SSD on hand because I always find an old computer to put one in.
