Considering jumping on this one. But won't get to building for another 15 days at least. Chief?

My only comment is its 5200 ram at cas 40. I think 6000 at cas 36 is pretty standard now. I'm not sure what ram the intel z690 boards are capable of compared to z790, that could be an issue too?

Yep the RAM is not high end, but I think it could tide me over for the time until DDR5 becomes more standard. I'm more concerned about the board quality really, not hearing good things about Gigabyte

There is nothing inherently wrong with the reliability of them. They just make weird choices about features and board layout that frustrate people who build a lot.

Got this deal a few months back. Running with the 13600k with zero issues; was thinking of going with faster RAM but couldn't beat the combo price. Had to flash the mobo to get it to work with the 13600k but it was quick (10 min) and easy. Since then smooth sailing.

Is this saying the vrm can only do 105A? That seems low. A i7-12700k can peak at over 241w which at 1.3v is 185A.

there's no huge difference with ram timings or speed anyway..it's all marginal

Just got this a week ago for a 13700k, and as far as ram timings are concerned, I had purchased gigabytes 32gb of 6000mhz RGB ram. Built it entirely, flashes bios, and after update it posted. Still working, no adjustments, or additional voltage needed. No company can guarantee compatibility of ram at overclocked speeds. I believe 12/13th gen mobos are quoted to be compatible at 4800mhz, and thus you won't get a guarantee for anything over that from anyone.

Most of the bad reviews seem like they're from ram issues, and I doubt most of them have flashed bios to latest. I'm not disregarding their experiences, but I myself have had zero issues. Maybe if I hadn't flashed I would be in the same boat. 🤷

Folks should look up the horrendous support from Gigabyte regarding RMAs and their video cards. They even shut down their return site. I just canceled 3 Gigabyte motherboard others and instead went with Asus. I am confident there will be the one person that says, But they have been great..........But I am not chancing a questionable company with so many negative comments and lack of backing up their products.

So, using basic amazon pricing the 5200 32gb kit is maybe $100. That means this motherboard they are charging you $200. So... how is this a deal?
