Start with Cloud Practitioner. Then Solutions Architect Associate or Developer Associate based on your job profile
I'm A+ certifified and have worked with computers at home since I was younger. I've setup my own home network/WiFi using pfSense and Unifi equipment. I've been having trouble obtaining my first entry level IT job. Every place want 10 years experience for an entry level role. Currently in the healthcare industry for over a decade and looking to switch careers.

I would greatly appreciate any and all feedback!

I would love to learn cloud stuff like AWS, Azure and Google cloud. Cybersecurity is also on my radar.

Currently working to obtain Network+ and learning Linux.
I started my IT field at a dealership. They didn't know anything. I got to experiment and screw up a lot of things. They were cheap so they got what they needed and I got what I needed. Lol

I took the practitioner exam recently wasn't too bad with a week of studying if you're already in the IT field.

I need to move on to the architect training but getting myself to do it is another thing.

What order of certification do you recommend taking for anyone who is interested?

Foundations>Solutions Architect >Architect Professional seems to be the most recommended as the other exams get easier once you have that base. Also, solutions is often where people start in their first jobs with AWS.

From what i've seen in the current IT job market, employers are looking for more while paying less. Referrals are king, especially if trying to go after the "big" companies. If you have A+ already, I recommend focusing on brand specific certs (AWS, Azure, GPC, Cisco, Microsoft, RedHat, etc). Thats where the demand and $$$ is at.

Thank you for the response. At this point, I'm just trying to get into maybe a help desk or desktop support role to get experience and learn new skills. You make a great point. From what I've seen, they seem to be asking for a whole lot... I even got referred by an acquaintance and that didn't work. I've tried tailoring my resume to each individual job post/application and doing research. I will keep going and perhaps obtain some AWS, Cisco and Microsoft certs along the way.

You are doing all the right things, it's a tough job market but hang in there, you'll definitely find an opportunity. Good luck 👍
