The 12.9 model and the 11 inch model generations don't line up - that's the disconnect here.

This is the 3rd gen of the 11" iPad Pro.

I bought one last week. This is the 3rd generation iPad Pro 11 inch with the M1 chip and has the additional ram memory (16GB).

Replace the desktop? (If you're not a gaming or into video editing). Attach it to the Magic Keyboard and bam, you've got a "computer setup"

I used 11 inch iPad Pro for a while and sold it, because it is too small to use especially with Magic Keyboard. I am happy with 12.9 inch version now.

My Air is my only "computer" now and it works 99% of the time, but my main complaint is screen size. I'm worried going to 12.9 will be too difficult to use as a tablet though. Also just the idea of rebuying a Magic Keyboard sucks. They're too expensive.

12.9 with Magic Keyboard is amazing, but I rarely use it as a tablet as it is super heavy. Actually 11 is not light neither. iPad mini is the best tablet product in my eyes, will buy one when it drops to 349.

That is a nice deal ($1300 for 1tb 12.9). It is tempting, but I can't quite justify it while typing this out on the 2020 model. If it went down to $999, instant order though.

Yeah, I bought the late 2018 model in 2019 (12.9" Gen 3 Pro) 1TB Cell model (6GB RAM) and am in the same place. It works so fantastically but it's also 4.5 years old. Battery life is declining, I do feel like I run into RAM exhaustion with multiple apps open, etc. At $1000 for the 12.9" I would probably be in just to get 16GB of RAM.

I bought an open box Amazon 1 TB Cellular 12.9 m1 iPad Pro for $1050. It took me two orders to find one that was eligible for Apple Care. YMMV.
