I'm assuming this would be a really slow single drive in a system? So more like long term storage not daily accessed data

If you're trying to compare this to a PCIe 5.0 NVME drive, yes it's slow. That said, as the name would imply, this drive is primary focused on NAS duties, where even a single drive could theoretically saturate a 1Gb/s link, depending on the workload. Pool enough of them together, and you can saturate even a 10Gb/s link.

You have to enter the promo code during checkout. The item page says "save $20" because the listed $129 is $20 less than the regular $149. But the OP is correct, you can order the drive for $100 plus tax with the promo code
