These type of jackets of theirs are AWESOME, if you really need to stay warm (I have one). However, that damn inner lining is SHINY AF! I personally won't wear mine out for an evening now. I did once and felt silly the entire night.

No some have down feather insulation which are typically more packable and warmer per weight.

Not that important for regular average-joe jacket use but others might disagree.

These colors leave a lot to be desired, the most normal looking one is the woodland camo which would be great if you're going hunting and need a low-cost jacket but...gah at the rest

Woodland wasn't even available in my size, I settled for triple puke brown. For $45 + tax tho, I'll give their omni-heat a try, still cold as balls in CA right now so it'll get instant use.

seems a bit in your head, if its on the inside lining no one is going to see it and even if someone got a glance and saw the liner would people be weirded by it? people wear gaudy stuff and people dont think twice about it.

No the poly insulation is getting a lot better but down is usually lighter and can pack into a small bag. Then when you pull it out just fluff it up by shaking it like a duck does to get the insulation properties back. Some of the better more expensive poly insulations will actually keep you warm when wet almost like wool. You just need to decide what is best for you.
