Voltage is too low to charge 12v batteries.
If you can figure out how to wire 2 in series, it should be 16v

I wouldn't doubt there's 4 wires in the black wire and you could just hook them in series and put a new end on it ...

Drip loops are your friend

While they'll certainly help, drip loops only go so far.. wind still drives rain, and the open USB ports could leave this unit very susceptible to corrosion (aka "green death") even just from relative humidity. There's not much that I could find on their page about water resistance. Probably best to seal it up if you're going to use it outside 'permanently'.

I'm in for one. But I suspect these orders will be canceled. Just a hunch.
I just received my order today. Beefier than I expected but not sure what I'm going to do with these

Received mine today. I can confirm the dual male micro USB is unregulated 8V open circuit from the panel, and the two plugs are in parallel. The female USB ports on the box are separate. 1 panel won't have high enough voltage for solar controllers so I tried splicing 2 panels up in series and got 15.6V open circuit in afternoon sun.

In afternoon sun I got about 24W (13.3V at 1.8A) from the 2 in series which is less than I expected for the conditions, but maybe it was a bad connection (I was using alligator clips to temporarily connect the wires). A 100W rigid panel in the same conditions was getting 75-80W.

Thanks for the info. Did it come with the two USB-A ports so you can use your own USB-A to USB-C cable? And would you say it's safe to leave a phone attached to it unsupervised for hours, or were the Lion electronics too janky for that? Would it at least be safe to leave a battery storage bank attached to it unsupervised for hours?

Yeah the 2 female USB-A ports are regulated at 5V so I'd trust it as much as any other cheap phone charger. They don't have any fast charge protocols so you will be limited to 5W or 10W depending on if you device is willing to accept 1A or 2A without any fast charge protocol.

If you leave your phone or power bank you'd want them out of the sun. If you put it under the panel's shade make sure the panel is propped up to allow airflow underneath or your phone will bake.

Thanks and repped, and yes the idea would be to shade the phone/charger while they receive their 5W over the course of a day. Still waiting on my order to ship, looking forward to testing it out.

My results through a window with other small panels were terrible. Let me know if this strategy works for you, because I'll definitely be interested. Killed my last one (different type entirely) in a rain shower.

I basically do the same thing, use these to charge and deplete power banks to save a few bucks on the electric. Especially during the summer variable rates that can peak to almost $0.50/kWh on my plan. It does make a difference.
I'll definitely keep track of my findings. I have all south-facing windows and I keep the screens lifted, so I should be able to get some good sunlight. I do live in New England, but my view from the windows is unobstructed.

I have one of those cheap 10k units with 3 tiny foldable panels that usually charges within a week or so. Yea, slow, but I don't use it often. I usually remember I have it every couple of week and use it to power my phone while I game for one night, maybe two. That power bank is gettin pretty old, but I have multiple banks that could use these panels, outside of the Ecoflow.

I'm making an assumption based on the plugs and input volts of the pack it goes to that everything is regulated down to 5 volts. You might be able to Remove the regulation, but i still don't think the cell setup is going to be great for your purpose.

If it were me, I'd just get a 8-10 watt 12 volt panel and be done with it. Something like that couldn't cost much. You don't need 20 watts to trickle charge, well unless the battery is Gigantic.
Size doesn't matter. I LA battery needs charge current to be pretty precisely controlled in order not to gas it. I use a desktop power supply to provide 14.4VDC to top-off my batteries on occasion and the current is very low for a mostly fully-charged battery. When full, the current is much less than a tenth of an amp. That's <<<20W.

I plan to use two to charge a 20k mah bank with two inputs. It'll be interesting to see how it works out. I'm only buying this out of curiosity. I can't imagine anyone buying this as an actual source of reliable, practical source of charging during an outage.

It is basically the same as the 20-30W foldable panels with usb ports for backpacking sold for $40-50, only in rigid panel form that is a lot heavier but more durable. Don't see why you wouldn't be able to rely on it for charging your phone in case of outages any less than similar products under $50.

Now to find USB battery banks that work like a UPS and can be charged while being used/discharged... That's the hard part...

FYI, they screwed up on my orders and sent them to my billing address, not shipping address. I used Apple Pay to check out, because I was driving when this went FP, but I checked my order emails and the shipping address was correct, they just sent them to the billing address for some reason. Not a huge issue, but had to get the neighbor to go grab them for me lol

I'm basically hoping on doing something similar. I have some power banks that I never use and plan on trying to charge them via these solar panels.

I'm hoping to make a few Blink XT2 cameras that I got from Woot refurbished for $12 each solar powered.

The XT2s have a USB port on the back that I'm assuming is for powering the cameras. So the power chain will be solar panel to power bank then XT2. Let the half ars experiments begin...

Well, it sounds like after cutting off that double micro usb plug -it's going to need one of those usb regulators soldered up. just splicing in a straight USB C connection is out. The regulation for that plug must originate on the Lion Cub side.

Incidentally, I know you measured the voltage but did you measure the amps individually on the them before putting them in a series? That's a pretty low wattage reading.
