These are perfect for just charging your phone/tablet/laptop. The USB 3.1 10gbps cables are much thicker and much much more expensive, so these do serve a purpose. You can always carry a small USB 3.1 cable for high speed data transfer and then one of these for your wall charger.

I have loved monoprice since they first started and have always recommend them to people. However, that changed when I got one of their usb C cable and I'm pretty sure it burned out one of my USB C ports on my laptop. Looked at the cable end by the USB C port and the connector was singed. I posted a review about it with a picture of the damaged and monoprice REMOVED the review. I'm done with them as far as cables are concerned. Edit: To clarify, I have used multiple other cables from other vendors including Dynex and Anker and have had ZERO problems with that same charger.

This is an even better deal. 6ft is the way to go. I have never bought 3ft before in my life (other than the 3ft ones included in phone boxes)

Ordered these a couple days ago. I was charged but no order or shipment confirmation. I also ordered a monitor a week ago, same story with no response from customer service regarding my inquiry. Not sure what's going on with Monoprice.

Ugh. I've been dumping all those monster 6' garden hose lengths. Definitely NOT the way to go for me. Sooooo much nicer and cleaner to just have a hub with 0.5' length and avoid the rat's nest of extra cable and ties.

I have the same experience, my last three orders this month have not yet shipped. All were from deals ๐Ÿง

I have placed a couple of orders for the usb c cables. Ordered sunday, received shipping confirmation wednesday on an order (nothing on other orders placed)
My guess is they are short staffed.

I personally prefer the 6' for when I am laying down in bed. Long enough for me not to be hunched by the adapter/hub.

Does anything bad happen if you use this on a power brick that is over 60w for example, to power a 65w laptop?

Too much current drawn can heat up the cord and potentially melt it and/or start a fire. You might be okay since it's so close, but I'd play it safe and go for for something with at least 20% capacity over what's required. Penny wise vs. pound foolish and all that...

FYI prices went up by about $0.70 on both lengths.
