My local Walmart has all of it's space heaters on clearance. I personally like these basic ones, they are marked down to $5. They also had large room heaters marked at 70% off and a few of the fake fire places down to $40.

I got one years ago for $10. It's quite good, portable and heating up quickly.

I've used one for a few years - works good - heats fast, but the fan is noisy as all get out.

I've used this for 5-6 years under my work desk every day 8 hours a day m-f. Hasn't failed yet and keeps my cubicle warm.

Got two of these for $2 each last year. They work well and can easily heat a medium sized room.

I use these to load test generators and portable power banks. Works well for that task and you tailor among the 3 settings to fine tune the load. If it burns up, no big deal.
Just make sure to use a kill a watt or something similar to get the "true" watt load as there can be some variance.

Thanks for posting. This is good to keep the water pipe from freezing/or thawing. I crawled under someone's trailer this winter to help them thaw their pipe, put a little electric job in the hole I dug and left it there for about 4 hours. Got a call the water is running again. Won't melt the plastic lines if not directly on it. Need another one or two. $5 bucks is a no brainer.

I bought a few of these in December 2022 and I've used them here and there and they're really pretty great. For $5, if I didn't already own two, I would go buy a few more. They're small but they can heat up a room relatively well.

I can't speak for longevity but I don't regret spending $20 each on them; $5 is a steal.

They have heaters exactly for this purpose. We have one for our sprinkler valve at our home to prevent freezing. Uses way less wattage since it's just a heated wire that wraps around the pipe and it's safer.

Def wouldn't recommend using a space heater for long term use of heating pipes

These are great for what they are, less efficient cost wise than heat pumps or efficient gas heaters but if you only need to heat a small area they are great.

My wife uses one on low setting under her desk in the office I have it on a timer to start m-f about 15 minutes before she starts working and shut off when she's done. It allows me to keep the rest of the house at 68f in the winter instead of the 72 like she likes it lol.
