At this point I don't mind waiting a bit longer for a better sale or a slimmer version of the console. Basically lost the urge to buy this thing after how difficult they made it at first.

We are on the brink of a 2nd iteration of the PS5 console coming by 2024 but as soon as later this year...watch out for either a PS5 pro version, PS5 slim, and/or some new additional color variation of current PS5 console...I anticipate Sony will increase stock availability of current model and have more sales as year progresses. I also anticipate the current PS5 model/bundle to drop even more during the holidays. The question for many consumers will be "can I wait that long to buy the PS5" or "why not snag one today". It might make sense if you already have a tv that supports & optimizes current gen consoles, or plan to buy such a tv.

This will be $299 around the end of the year. Imo most retailers have been dragging out the supply change shortage due to the cough and now they have warehouses full of these things.

Waiting for PS5 Slim and PRO... This current iteration is excessively big and chunky.

A 40% discount in December from today? No. It never happens that way. Realistically a 20% discount. $399 possible with black friday 2023.

I remember buying my slim ps3 (after 2 years 11 months year debut) and ps4 (after 2 year debut) for $299 each. Even though my ps3 still worked fine, I bought my 2nd super slim ps3 for $199 later. I am shocked to see the ps5 still retailing for $499 since it came out in November 2020. I get it with the pandemic but still. With my huge ps3/ps4 backlog, I can wait longer for a ps5 future sale.

Console is supposed to have couch co-op if that helps. Otherwise it's just preference. I don't think the game is due till June unless you're wanting the PS5 for other use and not just Diablo, I'd certainly wait till June. I'd imagine we'd have more solid info by then on the Slim/Pro version aswell.
