Since Verizon knows the IMEI number of your phone that is currently using the same service, I doubt they would allow you to do this again within a one-year period it stated in the terms
I signed up when this was offered before; but Verizon never sent the esim to my Pixel 7, and did not assign a phone number. Customer service didn't know anything since I have no verizon number. When I try again it says I already have had the trial.

Boo. Just tried on my pixel 6a running calyxos. No go. It says because i'm rooted. Makes one question what kinda stuff's running in the background.
Verizon has always been hostile towards end-users having any sort of autonomy. They mandate that manufactures make sure it's impossible to get root, or unlock bootloaders. And, even if your phone is SIM-unlocked and supports Verizon bands perfectly, they won't let it on their network unless your IMEI is on a whitelist, so forget about bringing your phone from another carrier. Even doing something simple like moving SIMs between IMEIs will often get your service suspended.

Verizon is the most control-freakish and user-hostile carrier of the big three in every respect.

Verizon UWB branding includes both mmWave and C-band (the Mama Bear of their three 5G offerings). The rollout of C-band currently reaches about 100M in the U.S. But not all VZW 5G phones can access C-band. For example, in the Samsung Galaxy S-series, C-band radios only started appearing in the S21.
Verizon is frequently upgrading around my parts and it normally takes 4-6 months of chaos, so I turn off 5G to LTE only which works for my needs and also my P7P battery thanks me for it. When I do get UWB its for like a block or two then it's all over the place. It does stick w/ 5G NSA these days, but since that is still going over the 4G core, I don't really see an advantage. I do see mmwave in the downtown core (really for a block or two) and at the stadium private wifi.

Verizon network is so far behind Tmobile and ATT here they are just sucking wind. If Tmobile had better coverage I would be all over them, but they do not despite what their marketing department says.

Glad they are doing a free trial so now people can test it out to see if it works for them. As an aside USmobile (VZW) ups the game and does a 100 day trial, so for those looking to save a few bucks and a longer free trial go check them out. Their CS is superior to Verizon and any other Verizon MVNO.

Verizon has to practically give away their service now that they've dropped to #3 behind T-Mobile and At&t.

Verizon owns tracfone and probably the best signal in this area. So it depends and 5G isn't everything. I missed the boat with my Galaxy S20+ chip but LTE is a very snappy 200Mbps out here in the boonies.

Thats not entirely accurate, especially because the devils deal they made for 4G years ago. There are some phones that had a lag in whitelist, and they can easily have it added to the whitelist. One friend had this issue and lodged an FCC complaint and was fixed in a day.

I would say its less malice than incompetence. However they are pretty strict on network and if OP had a physical SIM it would work. Having a rooted non sighed os and an SW eSIM is a potential security issue so I can see why they could have concerns.

Now if you want to see hostile, try AT&T. They literally block most Androids, don't allow 5G/wifi calling for almost anything not AT&T branded (iPhones OK), and cricket is even further worse and also artificially limits hotspots in many cases.

Tmobile is typically cool with anything, but YMMV on bands.

In any case most of these issues are w/ Androids not iPhones.

iPhone is the only phone with all the bands I believe. At last this is the case few years ago, not sure now.

Other phone, nope. If you look at other phone, for example, Pixel or Galaxy, they have their different variant, because each carrier has their own specific band.

If you look closely, Verizon variants also cost $100 more than other.

Verizon service has gone wayyyy down since the pandemic. In my area, 5G "UW" is about 4Mbps, pretty laughable

Yup, AT&T is the worst when it comes to anti-consumer moves. VZ so far has accepted any 4G/5G phones that I owned as long as the LTE / NR bands are supported. AT&T on the other hand has an explicit whitelist that excludes most phones not sold in the US, and it even blocks some carrier unlocked phones that are actually on the whitelist. VZ's unlock policy is fairly generous, typically 60 days of active service and that's across its subbrands like Visible and Tracfone.

Verizon is in no way shape or form behind Tmobile. Verizon. Has 5G Nationwide (4G Advanced) virtually everywhere which is identical to TMobiles "5G".

Their mmwave is far better than anything tmobile has but it's got the range of your homes wifi and is really difficult to role out.

But no, apples to apples VZ is not behind Tmobile

So as a consumer, I just need to be prepared to go through the effort to file an FCC complaint and it will be all good?

I'd like to know this too as I am traveling to Europe in 3 weeks. Would be nice if this works there and offers decent data speed...

I'm on t-mobile magenta max. Apple iPhone 13 pro max. T-Mobile I get 2 bars and spotty reception. I've been hearing good things about Verizon and Xfinity at this place we just moved to.

Thanks for posting this. Giving it a trial and so far I'm loving it compared to T-Mobile. I'm pretty sure I'm going to switch before the trial is over 😂

According to the Verizon Free Trial FAQs, this is domestic only. "You'll have domestic calling only during the trial. International services and add-on features aren't included."
