Verizon is the most control-freakish and user-hostile carrier of the big three in every respect.
Verizon network is so far behind Tmobile and ATT here they are just sucking wind. If Tmobile had better coverage I would be all over them, but they do not despite what their marketing department says.
Glad they are doing a free trial so now people can test it out to see if it works for them. As an aside USmobile (VZW) ups the game and does a 100 day trial, so for those looking to save a few bucks and a longer free trial go check them out. Their CS is superior to Verizon and any other Verizon MVNO.

I would say its less malice than incompetence. However they are pretty strict on network and if OP had a physical SIM it would work. Having a rooted non sighed os and an SW eSIM is a potential security issue so I can see why they could have concerns.
Now if you want to see hostile, try AT&T. They literally block most Androids, don't allow 5G/wifi calling for almost anything not AT&T branded (iPhones OK), and cricket is even further worse and also artificially limits hotspots in many cases.
Tmobile is typically cool with anything, but YMMV on bands.
In any case most of these issues are w/ Androids not iPhones.
Other phone, nope. If you look at other phone, for example, Pixel or Galaxy, they have their different variant, because each carrier has their own specific band.
If you look closely, Verizon variants also cost $100 more than other.

Their mmwave is far better than anything tmobile has but it's got the range of your homes wifi and is really difficult to role out.
But no, apples to apples VZ is not behind Tmobile

So as a consumer, I just need to be prepared to go through the effort to file an FCC complaint and it will be all good?
Thanks for posting this. Giving it a trial and so far I'm loving it compared to T-Mobile. I'm pretty sure I'm going to switch before the trial is over 😂
