Thats not entirely accurate, especially because the devils deal they made for 4G years ago. There are some phones that had a lag in whitelist, and they can easily have it added to the whitelist. One friend had this issue and lodged an FCC complaint and was fixed in a day.

I would say its less malice than incompetence. However they are pretty strict on network and if OP had a physical SIM it would work. Having a rooted non sighed os and an SW eSIM is a potential security issue so I can see why they could have concerns.

Now if you want to see hostile, try AT&T. They literally block most Androids, don't allow 5G/wifi calling for almost anything not AT&T branded (iPhones OK), and cricket is even further worse and also artificially limits hotspots in many cases.

Tmobile is typically cool with anything, but YMMV on bands.

In any case most of these issues are w/ Androids not iPhones.
Yeah, I'm calling BS on the "hostile" comment made by the person you quoted. I would agree back when Verizon only sold CDMA phones (i.e. Bell Atlantic Mobile or even early Verizon), you were basically stuck with whatever Verizon sold. With CDMA in the United States, that was commonplace with basically all regional carriers and even Sprint.

I had Verizon up until VoLTE became the preferred calling and I could just drop my SIM card into whatever phone I bought as long as it had CDMA+LTE using the frequencies needed by Verizon. I never had any issues with that and in fact I had fewer issues with phone swapping with Verizon than I do with AT&T now. If I SIM swap too many times on AT&T, then my service gets disabled until I speak with support, which REALLY sucks on AT&T Prepaid. And I couldn't even use my Pixel 6a on Cricket because they block VoLTE if your phone isn't on their stupid whitelist.

Is there a a way to port out the number at the end of the trial? Don't mind if I have a pay a little. T-Mobile gives out crap numbers. Even the temp number Verizon gave out is fancy. I would be interested to take this number with me to T-Mobile.

I don't have service on my Pixel 6A and want to try Verizon. It asks for my current mobile number and I can't bypass this requirement. I have a Tracfone number on another phone but don't want to screw that up that phone and service.

Nothing happens, it just ends and you don't get charged anything. If you were using eSIM before, then you would have to re-isntall it again or whatever it's called with eSIMs

According to the Verizon Free Trial FAQs, this is domestic only. "You'll have domestic calling only during the trial. International services and add-on features aren't included."
Works for me in 3 different countries

What happens if you port your number from a different provider, then you're not satisfied, and decide to cancel after day 29? Do you have to go through the process with registering back with your original provider?

Thanks I know the trial is 30 days once you sign up. I was asking if there is a deadline to sign up.
