Another thing to add: if it loses power, it remembers the settings it was set to. So when power is restored, it will turn it self back on to the last setting. So conceivably, you can use a smart plug to automate turning it on and off.

This is wrong. You need to look at the CADR value, not advertised square footage. AHAM used CADR, and Coway listed their CADR at 328 for dust and smoke, 400 for pollen: https://cowaymega.com/products/airmega-400

Winix C545 is verified by AHAM to have 360 sqft coverage: https://www.winixamerica.com/prod...-purifier/
and https://www.ahamdir.com/room-air-cleaners/
But in the listing, C545 has CADR at 232 for smoke, 243 for dust, and 246 by pollen.

Coway is not verified by AHAM as the time I looked it up for this post. At 3.6 times the price of C545, I don't think it is a good deal, rather a bad one. Furthermore, you want multiple air purifier at multiple spot in the house rather than a single one at a big room to catch dust before it settles on the floor.

Farting next to them has practically become a sport in our household to see how far you can make the indicator go and how fast the blower ramps up. They do filter odor quite well too. 😂

I bought one in 2021 for $350 from a SlickDeals alert. It has worked incredibly well for us. I'm buying a second one now.

Smart one from that deal was a 300s and not a 400s? I have this 400 and am using it with a smart plug to turn on and off with a preset home automation program or voice controls via Alexa. It keeps the same settings even when turned on and off at the plug. Some air cleaners don't do that. Would love the 400s with all the bells and whistles but could not justify the price difference

True is just Alexa/Google and app enabled telling all the details, if it was like the one I posted for $374 a year ago way better

Same here but one back in early 2021 and it really helped us when we had fires in Oregon.
We have a ranch style house, 4000 ft.² and it pretty much does the whole house

I will try that. Filters do cost a lot but I have never tried aftermarket yet. If ran all day you can expect less than 12 months life, for me it was about 6 to 7 months.
