In my case, I have google fiber at home, getting 240Mbps on wifi and about 940Mbps on Ethernet using a cat5e cable connected to a 20$ switch.

It's always best to have wired network where it permits for stability and speed compared to wireless network.

But a) SFP+ is the real way to futureproof as it eats less power and doesn't get hot, and b) these "slimrun" monoprice cables are cheap for a reason: no gold plated contacts to guard against corrosion (recommended in some climates), and 30 AWG = thinner wire than regular 24 or 26 AWG. Less durable and less good for power over ethernet (POE) applications, which even if you don't have now, you may have in the future.
