You have to use these correctly. And I sure admit, just by looking, you'd put the filter in the black container then pour the litter in. YOU DO NOT. Found this out after months myself. You put the litter in the black container and when it's time to empty you pour the litter and mess into the empty other container with the filter then lift and sift. No clogging the sifter.

I have this and while it's small and I have larger litter boxes, I dump the boxes into this to sift everything out and dump into the trash. I foster cats and this saves so much time over scooping.

I got this awhile back and threw it away. When the litter is low, with dr elseys which I think is a slower absorber, it clumps in all the holes and is more painful to clean than a regular box. Threw it away within a month. Just my experience

I'm fostering a pair of cats for a friend, plus one of my own, and have had to scatter FIVE litter boxes around the house to keep all the crap (literally) manageable. Three of the pans are these sifters and they're by far the easiest to clean and refill.... but they gotta be tossed after a year because eventually the plastic starts retaining filth and bacteria... If I can smell it, the cats certainly can, and it drives them to look elsewhere to do their business, which defeats the purpose.

I pick these up when they're on sale so I have a spare or two ready when it's time to toss one. This is about at good a price as you'll see, in for one for an April delivery.

I guess some people don't clean the boxes. It's not that hard, empty out the litter, put some bleach in, scrub, rinse, dry and refill. Good as new.

Me too. I have only two cats though. Many years ago I made a sifter.

We recently upgraded to some stainless steel litter pans. Expensive, but definitely help with cleaning and odor retention vs. plastic.

Yup. The order from bottom to top should be pan, sifter, pan, litter.

When ready to clean, lift out top pan, pour litter into sifter. Then sift into bottom pan and reassemble: Pan you just emptied on the bottom, sifter next, then newly-filled pan on top.
