I think those deals are by adding a new line and port, not just a port.

if you call and say you're having trouble placing the order in store and say they told you to ask about waiving $35 connecting fee. They will waive it. I got the fee waived.

I had ported out two paid lines end of last year that I moved back with this add a line / port promotion and each line can get $730 off iPhone 13 series, making the base iPhone 13 free. No trade-ins needed.
