6P + 4E, strange combo. I always thought these smaller PC's would have more E-cores to stay cooler/quieter. I bet it runs great though.

I think it's a bit overkill for a router.
Not if you want a firewall.

Way overkill. You can route and QoS gigabit plus on a laptop i3.
Need at least two ports and this has 2 2.5 gig ethernet ports. Also firewalls are very intensive so this would help.

Are you running an enterprise level network at your house? Firewall doesn't take diddly for computing power.

They charge sales tax here? I thought this stuff came from china.
They still have to pay US sales tax. Potential import duties too.

Picked this up for a PLEX transcoding server. I have my data on a NAS. CPU seems roughly comparable to the 12600 and the iGPU should be competitive with the HD770. Power efficiency should be much better. Don't really see any downsides.

How many simultaneous 4k transcoding can you achieve before you notice issues?

Probably not modern virtual pinball software given it's got a relatively weak integrated graphics card.

I was thinking if this was suitable for Plex myself. May I ask what HD, RAM and OS you intend to run on this?

Essentially, would the 32GB RAM and 512GB SSD variant be good enough, if I'm planning to run unRAID? Or can it run Windows just fine and still handle media server processing?

Anyone knows if the 2.5gbps nics are Intel i225/226 or Realtek 8125b?

True, but 2 NIC can allow you to have a front end and back end subnet
