I've had gardenia plants 3-4 times, they are very tough to take care. The moment you replant them in a pot it looses all its buds, if you change their location they fall off the buds/flowers. Very high maintenance plant. Gardenia is fav choice of insets like mites. When we see them in stores they are on high performance fertilizers so they look nice and green.

I just never heard that term used for plants. It's a southern plant and can't take the cold, more so the flowers.
