However, the store may run out of inventory especially late in the evening, and they (the store) have no way of canceling or refunding your order. In this case, they may offer you an alternative of equal value. You might also be able to reach out to KFC via app to request a refund in this case.
In my case, I ordered (1) 8-piece special for $10. Then placed another order for (1) 8-piece chicken and (1) 8-piece tenders. When I got to the store, they ran out of the tenders, so they offered me more chicken plus 2 large side orders of my choice -- YMMV
