If you know someone who works at KFC, ask for the flour. Friend of mine used to work there and gave me the flour. Taste almost like in-store with the exception of moist level since I don't own pressure cooker fryer.

You're not wrong, extra crispy has always seemed bland to me. I get original for the flavor, but getting old pieces throw me off for a few years
Yea, hence why there's no lines at KFC. Apparently something is off there and they're giving out promotions but the cooking is still the same.

Franchises shouldn't be allowed to opt out of advertised deals. Getting the benefits of the advertising but not offering the deal seems wrong.
They opt out at their own risk.

I believe they are not required to honor certain deals because as a franchise they can set their prices, unless specified otherwise in the franchise agreement.

Most franchisees would agree that the advertising of specials like this is good for business. Pissing off customers by opting out is not good for business. The problem is if the special is a money loser, and while it may get more people in the door, it may not lead to more profits.

Generally all the special promotions from any franchisor that is filled by a franchisee is at best a breakeven, and most of the times a loss. And it doesn't make sense with royalty fees so high in some industries and an additional marketing fee on top of that. These days franchisee/franchisor relationships are more adversarial than ever, and a franchisee will simply violate the franchise agreement and refuse to do loss sales because it's lose-lose for the franchisee--lose now on the sale, or lose later if the franchisor wants to be an ass and pull the franchise. And the best bet is to kick that can down the road than take the hit for some promotion that a bunch of people getting kickbacks and whatnot frivolously spending franchisee hard earned funds that decided XX promo was a 'genius idea'.

Probably buy it. When our kid worked at McDonald's the owner would sell us a bag of fry's at cost.

Boy was I disappointed in this. I grew up with KFC and although the taste was right on, the size of the pieces was laughable and I felt like a giant when I picked up the bucket. In the past, a bucket would mean leftovers for the next day, this time we finished it in one meal.
