The 2.5GBit/s version costs $134.32. I wonder when these will come down in price. Wifi 6 routers are cheap, but if you want the same bandwidth over Ethernet, the prices are still quite high.
I've used the GS308E (the 8-port version) and it does NOT require and account or app to manage. I would not tolerate one that does. Like any decent device, you just point your web browser to its IP address. However, I vaguely recall some issue when I first set it up. I think it had to do with the switch not requesting an IP address from the DHCP server and ending up on the wrong subnet or something like that. I think I had to disconnect it from the router and connect it to a PC with a static IP address, on the switch's default subnet, in order to access the web GUI. After the initial setup, all was well. By the way, I could be remembering totally wrong, or possibly some other device.
Vlans can be very useful. For example put all your iot and cameras on a different vlan from your pcs

Same price as the non enhanced version. Looks pretty slick.

In for one, thanks. I already have a TP-Link VLAN switch to keep two devices isolated, and I have an idea for using this one.

Is it worth upgrading from gs105v2? Don't find much difference other than 100 vs 300 series and maybe some speed.
105v2 is prosafe and this is not.

Looks like the GS105V2 is unmanaged - the GS305E switch in this deal has some managed capabilities, including being VLAN capable. If it was me and I didn't need VLAN capability, I wouldn't bother upgrading.

I mean they should be dropping in price as Wifi6E routers have already moved into the market and Wifi7 should be coming out later this year and 2024

Like all netgear stuff these days I'm assuming if you want to actually use the GUI you have to register for an account with all your personal info, and agree to their terms for tracking you. Guess that's how they subsidize a $15 switch.
