Not really.. proper ventilation and caution is required for resin printers and laser cutting machines... cutting certain materials with a laser produces toxic fumes. smoke inhaltion from even wood cutting is not good for you - especially if you cut exotic species!
Long focus for deeper cut short for engraving
This^. I'll also add that proper eye protection is mandatory, and I wouldn't trust the cheap ones that these come with. Repeated exposure to even splashback WILL damage your eyes, even if it doesn't show up until years later. Splashback occurs when the laser reflects off of the material you're engraving. It's invisible, you usually can't feel it, and you usually won't notice until a few years later when you're eyes deteriorate (cataracts, etc). I wouldn't recommend an unshielded laser cutter in any room that children or pets are able to get access to. You can build a shielded enclosure to rectify this, but it will more than likely cost more than this engraver. Just some things to think about since most people learn pretty quickly that they need ventilation, but I know plenty of people that ran their lasers without proper eye protection because they didn't know how important it was. It's invisible, you won't feel it, and most people don't read instructions.

Looks like a great way to inhale a lot of toxic fumes.

I bought the larger Aufero 2 unit with 5watt laser. I got it together, but have not tried it yet.

For me, they shipped fairly quickly. They sent it from Amazon's inventory.
Very cool! Let me know how it goes

For the lay person who doesn't know this needs to have proper ventilation to use, I would agree... however, like 3D resin printing, most users know full well going in that proper caution and ventilation is required for these products.

Noob question. When would I use a short focus Lazer over a long focus?
