Slow cook this with a package of sliced cherry tomatoes, basil and extra virgin olive oil for about 10 minutes white your pasta boils. Top it off with pecorino cheese. You'll have a better sauce than 90% of the stuff out there.

FYI- This is tomato paste and water. Also buy from glass jar not a can. I suggest Rao's, muraca or mutti.

This is a good price for a good product, not knocking it at all.

Just wanted to mention as a prolific red sauce maker, the crushed roma 28oz can of tomatoes at Sprouts for $2 is my go to after the crazy price hikes. Surprisingly great quality for the price and it tastes great, requires very little ingredients outside of the basics (onion, garlic, basil, oil/butter).

How does this compare to the Costco / Kirkland ones?
Not the italian ones, but the Kirkland branded ones.

I've always wondered: do you pronounce it "mu-ir" or "meer?"

I like to make my own pasta sauce since I can't have onion or garlic (sad, sad life), and cans like this are great as a starter. It's a decent deal, but more than I use in a year.

At $6.88 to $8.52 a jar. and that's Walmart prices. No thanks. I can make better with this tomato sauce and my own additions.
