For those who don't know, this contains casein. Most of the deals posted here are for proteins that are exclusively whey which is the type of protein most people associate with protein shakes. They have different uses. Casein is slowly digested and is usually taken during fasting periods (eg. at night) help make you feel full while building muscle. That's why this is advertised as "8 hour protein". It typically mixes much thicker than whey-only protein which is why I suspect some of the comments about viscosity and poor mixing are from people that didn't know the difference.

I would say 62% protein is pretty bad, people are getting way too excited for low- amount of protein per gram of product.

Not bad, but only 62% protein overall. Also 8 grams of carbs per serving, coming from Maltodextrine. Should be decent for recovery.

For those who don't know, this contains casein. Most of the deals posted here are for proteins that are exclusively whey which is the type of protein most people associate with protein shakes. Any real disadvantages to using this in the morning/as my daily driver?

I use casein-why combo mostly in recipes, much better texture for mugcakes, donuts, etc. Allow me to "cheat" on a diet and have a certain treats, snacks. I have 4 or 5 protein waffles everyday. For awhile I was also having a pint of protein ice cream from ninja creami even for breakfast.

what's the current consensus on just eating cottage cheese? other than the salt it was my preferred casein choice when I used to take it... i generally avoid salt in my nutrition, so never worried about that aspect of it.

mixing this stuff was never as easy as whey of course, and i didn't want the hassle of using mixers so never stuck with the powder for long.
