the website does not work for me in chrome, but it does work for me in microsoft edge.

bike appears to be available in the following sizes:

48cm
51cm
54cm
56cm
58cm

also, bike seems to have a $79 "oversize handling fee" which, also covers the shipping.

tax for me would be $82.73, which means the total cost (for me) is $1,461.55, in case that saves anyone time.

$1300 looks to be the price just about everywhere for this right now.

Keep in mind this is a race bike. It's got a tight, twitchy geometry. It's not built for comfort over many meandering hours in the saddle.

Also, if you're going to race this in a crit, for example, rim brakes are preferred due to weight savings. It's not like they don't work, it's a tried and true technology. Disc just tend to work a bit better, especially in wet conditions.

I was going to come in before the "this isn't an e-bike?" crowd and say this is a good deal. But buying a rim brake-equipped bike in 2023 makes little sense.

Anyone shopping this would be better served in the used market. If you're buying new, buy a bike with HYDRAULIC disc brakes.

The only thing great about this bike are the retro decals.

not sure if Kestrel bikes (owned by the same company that make Fuji) are still being developed, but I picked up a 2016 RT1000 full carbon on clearance/closeout with a 105 group set from (the now defunct) Performance Bike for under $1200 in 2018.... and that included the cost of accessories such as pedals and bottle cages. no time machine to go back, but that was a solid deal and I have found the bike to much better in every way than my Trek aluminum frame bike that cost much more than that in 2015.

if you don't care about new "old stock", here's one.. https://www.bikesdirect.com/produ...es_xiv.htm

Yes, its almost 2K... but full CF and Ultegra. I'd be all over it if I didnt have my RT right now..

I got this bike last year at an REI sale for $1300 with store pickup. For that price it's a good value. Yes, it has rim brakes instead of disc brakes. I have another bike with disc brakes and they do grip quite a bit better. For a road bike I don't think it makes a huge difference though since you are not braking all that often and they work well enough. On the plus side you save about a pound in weight and $500 in cost, and they are easier to maintain.

This bike feels light and fast and the latest generation of Shimano 105 shifters are great, a big improvement over the previous generation. In a way this bike is a throwback to 10-15 years ago, before carbon fiber and disc brakes became popular. This would have been a high end bike back then. The only thing I didn't like about it was the saddle. I found it hard and uncomfortable and replaced it with a different one.

I got the 54. I weighed it when I first got it before installing accessories: 19.5 pounds with pedals.

Not sure I can speak for others in the "fix everything yourself" category but rim brakes for me are a plus over hydraulic disc brake.

Nice bike and Ultegra where it matters. Good brand historically. I ride a 2009? Mongoose Bosberg, rebranded monocoque Kinesis frame with Rival. Under 17lbs with pedals, cages and computer. Great ride after too many users of overly race oriented, uncomfortable Tarmacs, etc. $1200 from Performance new, $800 used.

I moved my disc brakes bike to basement for Zwift and bought a road bike with rim brakes for outdoor rides. Rim brakes are better both from weight perspective and also maintenance.

I'm a bike cheapskate and have only ever had bikes with rim brakes or drum brakes so forgive my ignorance, but I'm not sure I understand what I'm missing by not having discs. The only times I've felt like I needed more stopping power were when the brakes were in bad repair or the pads were wetter than I thought.

But I'm mostly a commuter (with occasional track days) so I guess I'm usually either braking from low-ish speeds or, at the track, hardly braking at all.

Disc brakes work much better in rain, they allow for wider tires for much more comfort, and also rotors aren't a structural component like a rim brake track so you won't be ultimately throwing money away if you get some nice carbon wheels.

For most people that are just going to ride around in fair weather and not upgrade the wheels, rim brakes are fine and 105 is a great groupset.

The real downside to going rim brake these days is resale. There are going to be some people that won't even consider buying a rim brake bike if you go to sale it in a year or three. I'm a disc brake fan boy but even I think on road bike that is strictly a road bike I don't really care while riding it but buying it I'm going disc.

USA-made bikes haven't existed much since the early aughts, dude. I had a 1997 Mountain Goat and a 2001 Schwinn Homegrown both built in the U.S. Last two U.S.-made bikes I've had.
The "they" OP is talking about is cannondale. And about the triangles, they always has a funky backend with those cantilever dropouts that made the seat stays steeper than normal.

The argument is not that one is better than the other. It is that for the price you should use be expecting hydraulic disc brake which is newer technology.

Since they closed the USA plant and started buying frames from Taiwanese contract manufacturers. They're mig welded by robots, with little or no manual cleanup. I saw one where they painted over BB sized weld spatter.
