I am seeing they are like $50 a pair?! Even if the Bosch lasts "Up to 40% longer" than conventional blades, it would make it a terrible value. If one is going to pay like 4x more, it should last 400% longer. Not just "up to 40% longer". There is no way Bosch is lasting far longer to justify the high cost for me.
I can see some people just buying the Bosch wiper blade because of its design and maybe they think it looks cooler than the conventional frame design. I don't care about wiper design.

And yes, the profile is a bit higher than others, but not noticeable if you drive anything other than a sports car, which is probably 95% of general commuters

BTW, Amazon has Hella wipers for just over half the price of Anco 31-series as well. Don't know much about those. My own preference, dealing with 4 cars, has been "buy whatever, replace every year or two". Tried several more expensive models, no better. That includes more exotic stuff like PIAA silicon. Bosch... I personally try to stay as far away from _anything_ Bosch as I can. Based on everything I've tried from spark plugs and wiper blades to batteries in Europe, distributors, larger electric parts for German and Japanese cars. A purely marketing-driven company with prices and "quality" to match, IMHO.
Wipers are a pain to deal with? Really? We got a pack of tinder hands on here.
My only issue is how difficult it is to find bulk quality rubber refills now.
The Chinese silicon ones I got off eBay were garbage. If any of you guys know a good source I prefer to just buy the rubber. The brackets are usually fine and it's a big environmental waste to throw them away as garbage unless badly
faded/damaged/rusted.
Happy to take the conversation down even lower for the Bosch crowd.

As for people who think that there is some huge conspiracy that all those verified buyers are fake, you are in denial and think that you need to pay big bucks for wipers. Justify for your high cost purchase of wipers. I would never pay for the expensive brand wiper. People are aware that one can click a public profile from a reviewer and see all the various reviews (positive and negative). It isn't like there are reviewers just only reviewing Anco wipers. They are legit reviews. 11K reviews are a big enough sample size.
We also have to bring up that lot of users may incorrectly install them, wipe when windshield is dry, wipe when bumpy frozen ice is on the windshield and then blame the wipers for streaking (duh!), leave wipers down while parked overnight during icy freezing snow fall, etc. Lot of reasons where the user is at fault which causes damage to the wipers.

Also, people don't seem to know that you can clean your wiper blades, which will prolong the life and avoid a lot of issues with streaks. Just run a damp shop towel up and down the blade a few times every now and then. You'll see all the accumulated gunk and debri that prevents the blade from getting that perfectly flat connection with the windshield. You should notice an immediate improvement.

This thread makes me feel sad for the future of our world. People that believe any car needs $50 wiper blades are the same ones that need a new $1000+ phone every year. Priorities feel so out of whack for such a huge swath of the population. The world feels doomed.

I figured having the plastic shroud across the top would at least protect the rubber more from UV rays, ice etc. They look more premium if someone is into that.
I started just replacing the rubber when I needed new blades on an old 71 Cadillac. Pricey car had custom chrome blade brackets. No way I was paying what those would cost. replaced the rubber blades and just naturally started doing it on other cars.
It's just too bad it isn't easier to find a good source for the rubber. Even some of the auto places that used to carry them stopped.
Why carry this when John E Public just doesn't pay any attention to what they pay for stuff?
Don't worry, the days of Easy Money are going to be over soon. A rude awakening for some folks.
I understand even Apple has been having more resistance to new phone purchases.

I get that some of you are OCD about streaks or require the best or latest tech. However, I'm OCD about wasting money.
Even if you had to replace them yearly (10 minute job at best)... that still works out cheaper than 35.00 or more every 2 yrs.
