I admit I don't have a first-hand account if this, but when I was doing my research a few weeks ago on what refurbished laptop to get, multiple unrelated posts on Reddit and other tech forums suggested that folks absolutely steer clear of 7390 due to unusually high failure rate often observed by those in charge of procuring many people with work laptops. There were even posts along the lines of "we ended up RMAing ALL our 7390s - something never ever happened with any other brand or model".

I ended up going with a few Lenovo laptops in the end, but figured I'd share this as long as 7390-related conversation started. I am a huge fan of Dell brand (and DellRefurbished as a source), but these posts really worried me.
From Dell manual: https://www.dell.com/support/manu...a8e7c2490b it shows that screen on 7390 should be lower brightness. Soldered ram (max 16GB instead of 32GB) and it's DDR3 vs DDR4 as well.
no it doesn't work on dell refurbished

8th gen i7 with FHD touch screen (300 nits according to manual) for most which seems like a good specs for this price. It also has One USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 2 port (Thunderbolt)
Two USB Type-A 3.1 Gen 1 ports (one PowerShare capable) and supports HDMI 1.4a.
Two SODIMM DDR4 2400 up to 32GB

The 7390 2-in-1 with 16 GB and FHD screen and 4 core 8th-gen processor is cheaper than this in A condition.

And you get the 2-in-1 feature. And a brighter screen (320 nits max, 310 average).

The only significant advantages of this one are replaceable memory and a modest weight advantage (about 6oz) due to the lack of the flippable screen.

Any of these laptops worth it? How would these latitude laptops compare to 2023 intel i3 or even i5 processor? Is it worth it or should I just go with 2023 processor?

Is there a % off coupon for the 7390 ? DELL7300DEAL only gives free shipping on the 7390.

Is the 7300 better than the 5490? If so, in what way? Thanks.

I got another 7390 2-in-1 on Sunday for that price. But maybe that 40% off everything on the site coupon is expired now? They seem to have a coupon like that every weekend...

Is there a coupon code for the 7390? I missed the last time these went on sale. I ask because I'm seeing $349 as the cheapest in A condition.

Found some Surface laptops (i7/16GB RAM/512GB SSD) on eBay that are in $200-250 range. Are they better than this Dell deal?

specific links would help. i think it'd mostly come down to what gen the i7 is. the 8th gen here would be eligible for windows 11, whereas prior to that wouldn't be. also, the U sku's of i7's prior to the 8th gen were dual cores, whereas 8th gen is quad core.
