Amazon Prime Gaming has a limited time FREE Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition. I recently got the first Baldur's Gate in the Enhanced Edition that way, but not sure if that is still available to anyone who has it.
Also, while all of these had excellent stories, Torment still stands above the rest. Likely my favorite game from that decade and maybe still.
I've heard that you can find a way out of combat but it's harder to do. I played Tides of Numenera (the spiritual successor) and the combat was extremely hard to circumvent and had by far the worst combat system I've ever played. One day hopefully I'll get around to this.
Tides also has a a way around some of the combat, but you can quickly become OP in combat if you choose the correct people to take with you.
Did you finish Tides? It's not as good as Planescape IMO, but definitely worth a full playthrough.

Yes. I played through the original versions of those games already so I don't quite feel like buying them again. I may just wait for Amazon to give them away. In the meantime I'm busy with Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen which only cost me $3.75... It's surprisingly good and addictive for the price, especially the music is really good.
These games are dangerously addictive and long. I almost flunked out playing these games. The writing is just amazing.
For others who aren't familiar, the Baldur's Gate games are replayable. Doing all the side quests, BG1 can take 100 hours while BG2 can be 200 hours. I had to cheat just to hurry finishing up BG2.
The only game that I didn't like was Neverwinter Nights.
It's also good to know that most if not all these games are now on iOS and Android.

My prediction came true just 2 weeks later.
It looks like Amazon is indeed giving away this game in May 2023.

In any case, the system is antiquated now. But the stories from Planescape are not.
