Didn't see this posted. 40% retail price (26% off current sale price) directly through Onkyo with free shipping. Seems like a good value when you consider the cost of the included full Dirac live. HTH

every professional reviewer has this on the recommended buy list. this is hard, if not impossible to beat at this price. just note the lower warranty length of 1 year versus 3 for a new unit.

you won't find anything else with dirac and full pre-outs at anywhere near this price.
open box available with full 3 year warranty for $990 from an authorized Onkyo dealer.

There's never going to be an official company source that admits, "yeah, they're the same inside." Google "onkyo rz50 vs pioneer lx505" and read through the many forum threads; most enthusiasts recognize them as using the same platform.

I saw a comparison photo showing both the insides and the layout is the same (can't find it again). Whether there are component quality differences or whatever, I don't know if anybody has compared to that level of detail.

The back panels are the same. https://imgur.com/a/pqg9CIL The internal layout is the same. The menu system is the same except for the logo. There are slight feature differences that you can learn about if you want to read through all those forum threads.

I use mine everyday. This is my "endgame" receiver and if it lasts that long, I'll use it for at least the next 15 years. Powering my 11 speakers and sub with a good 3 channel amp.

Did they fix their HDMI issues? I have had two previous Onkyos that F'ed me over, the 818 and 626. I don't want to get burned again.

No sure if this helps but.. it has hdmi 2.1 ports on the rear panel, 3 of which are reported @ 48gbps and 3 @ 24gbps. Front panel has 1 hdmi 2.0 port. Over the years, multiple manufacturers have had hdmi issues of some degree. On my current HT, I plug directly into the TV hdmi ports, and back feed audio through hdmi ARCE. Not sure if I will use the same configuration with this receiver when I get it.

No he is referring to the daughter board burning out and hdmi functionality ceasing. It would appear it is fixed.

Edit: worth noting that due to the shorter warranty you *may* be better served going with the open box deal previously posted...

I have an the Onkyo TX-NR7100 and it works perfectly. Just one irritating issue: you can't turn off the display on the front which is annoying if you want a full blackout for a home theater.

I would go with the open box! I've ordered two open box receivers from Safe and Sound and they were perfect!

Is the new Dirac ART live introduced at CES 2023 going to be added to this AV through firmware update (for free?) or it will only appear in new hardware? Is it out? suppose to be in march 2023. I don't remember the details just remember reading the headlines.
