Same price on GameStop
GameStop price matches Amazon, so it'll always be the same there. Takes some gas though, while this is free. So if you don't want to wait, Goto GameStop, if you don't care, get from Amazon.

I don't play video games but my kids do. May I ask do I need to buy the drum set for this game? I prefer not to coz it seems a bit costly. Thanks.

Do you know how much the hori drum goes for in Japan in JPY? I have an upcoming trip there and if it's actually cheaper than the US model for better quality, it may be a fun souvenir

Yodobashi camera is a giant electronics chain across japan. Says 8180 yen, around 62 bucks. I think normal retail is 8980 which is around 68 bucks. The japanese sales tax is 10 percent unless it qualifies for tax exempt purchases for foreigners which I don't know if it does. The namco shop has it for 70 but shipping and taxes maybe steep. The namco site sometimes runs discounts on it but no one has a time machine or can predict the next deal. Personally If I were going to Japan I'd probably look for hard to find japan exclusive stuff unless the discount is steep enough. Anyway, don't spend too much time looking for the best deal. You probably spent a decent amount of money for airfare and lodging, several dollars discount on an item seems silly. Spend more time to enjoy the sites, food and culture. Enjoy your trip.

I guess might as well get the $65 bundle with drum. $45 for the drum is not bad. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...X0DER&th=1

That's not a hori drum. Most cheap drums are flawed including the hori. I have the hori and sometimes it doesn't register hits properly too. The hori can be modded to be more responsive though. There are a few reviews comparing the hori to other drums. A step up in drum is a Taiko lvl5 but those cost nearly 500 bucks. . I'll stick with the hori.

You do not need drum set to play this game. You can use normal controllers.
It is more fun and more realistic with the drum set.

Just came back from Japan, if the store participates in the tax free shopping, the purchase total just has to be over 5000 yen, and you'll need your passport.

Someone already posted this, but without context. The Hori drum is already sold in the US via the official Bandai website. No need to import from Japan.
