I have this backpack but in black. It is roomy with plenty of compartments which makes it great for travel. One thing that I like is that the laptop compartment is accessed from the outside of the backpack. This makes it a lot easier to remove your laptop/iPad when you're going through TSA at the airport.

I have this backpack but in black. It is roomy with plenty of compartments which makes it great for travel. One thing that I like is that the laptop compartment is accessed from the outside of the backpack. This makes it a lot easier to remove your laptop/iPad when you're going through TSA at the airport.

30L pack should be fine fit a carry on. My 42L just fits though a different style should be fine still.

This backpack definitely fits as a carry on. I used it as my personal item. FYI, if you carry bulky items in the small side pockets (water bottle for example), it may be a challenge to fit under the isle seats which tend to be narrower than the middle and window seats.
