Makes me wonder if I should cancel my Costco $1800 MBP16 deal and get this instead. Grrrrr
If I were you I'd cancel for a couple of reasons. 1 this is an ultimate pc machine. 2 this has everything you want to do like gaming at ultra settings ''any game actually at high to ultra settings" 4K video editing, any so much more. The MBP is also good but for the same prices IMO the Alienware M15 R7 is the best choice. Good luck
I'm not a pc expert but dang, laptops now rival top end gaming desktop rigs, minus the caveat of future CPU and GPU upgrades. Gotta improve my hustle if I want pretty things. Sheesh. 😔

Honestly bang for the buck laptops might be a better value anymore, just be careful of low power draw GPUs and you are typically fine.
I bought one with a 3070 recently it's taken whatever I've thrown at it in stride

Look into Framework if you're interested in CPU and GPU upgradeability in a laptop.
I paid slightly more for the m15 R6 in late 2021. It's got all the same specs except for the CPU, which is a gen older.
Mine can play just about everything at max or high settings at 60fps or higher. Do yourself a favor and use the money you saved to pick up some extra power bricks--they're gigantic, and a pain to haul around. I got two extra (so three total), and I can plug in to power in multiple rooms of my house. This laptop goes from my desk during work, to my bonus room to game on the TV with my kids, to my bedroom for late night gaming on this laptop's crisp screen with ease.
