That's not really the problem. The issue is if your roof has a leak or moisture gets through, your wires are compromised. And if rodents can get to it and cause a short, that could also be problematic. Should be covered in a junction box... the fact an electrician left that like that, wow, unbelievable.

Amazon has 250' genuine Romex 14/2 for $98…. Free shipping. This might be worth it in store but I've never even heard of the store and there's none within even 100 miles of me
