This. I'm a member of both so I'm not biased. I cannot tell you how many times the same exact brand name, quantity and variant is priced far cheaper at Sam's than Costco. Whether it is the same local brand of organic ginger or national brands of milk or tortillas or multivitamins or coffee they carry in both my local warehouses. Often the sale price at Costco equals regular price at Sam's. Case in point Icy Hot roll on for example. 19$ at Costco, 15$ regularly or 11$ on sale at Sam's.

Haha.

I like how transparent Sam's pricing is. I'm able to score lot of clearance deals simply because of store pick up options being available and displaying the clearance price. No need to even scour the isles. Just order for curbside pick up. I go to Costco when I need specific things Sam's doesn't sell, or specific items I use are on sale at Costco but not at Sam's. In my regular rushed life, I just do curbside pick ups from Sam's. Easy peasy. Going to Costco feels like I'm going to have a panic attack it is so crowded and checkout lines including self checkout are backed up all the way to the back of the club. Then I recall my scan and go app feature of Sam's wherein I don't even have to queue up for a self checkout there.

Anyway, take it as you will, Costco loyals. I benefit from both memberships in their own unique ways but if I were to be limited to only 1, I'd have to go with Sam's for its convenient curbside pick up, free shipping for plus on even a 3$ item, same day delivery for only 8$ while having all prices exactly the same as in-club and applying all currently running savings and clearance prices to my cart, time saving scan and go checkout thru app in-club while carrying similar quality and range of products and having perfectly great return policies or customer service.

P.S.: Didn't know Sam's does price match. Details please

I like Costco more because Costco pays their people a living wage, unlike Walmart. Also the customer service and return policy are awesome.

I trust Costco food. I wouldn't touch Sams chicken, fruit, and veggies. Probably laced with tons of antibiotics and pesticides.
I agree with the chicken. I will never buy chicken from Sam's again. Very inferior compared to Costco

FYI Costco is giving away free digital thermos if you turn on auto renewal.

Remember to turn it off online first.
My local Costco ended this last week and I missed it Frown

What do you guys think about these spring rolls? Would they appear cheap if we serve them at a kids' birthday party? I'm looking for appetizers while grown ups are hanging around the kids playing games. Thanks and reps.
Those spring roles are a staple item at my house. They're one of the only ways I can get my 3 year old to willingly eat a vegetable. We just throw the sauce away though, too salty.

that's basically what sams club is, the trailer park version of Costco. I used to have cards for both for work, they're pretty dramatically different stores as far as what they carry. I wouldn't rec. paying just to have the right to shop at either store though unless you need something specific (signed up one year because I needed tires that only Costco stocked).

Personal i go for what is tasty more so than appearance when choosing what food to serve. Like the last party I made BBQ chicken teriyaki bowls and Miso soup and edamame. All of which are super cheap in cost yet it was so tasty it was talked about for weeks and they asked who did the catering. they were surprised to learn I cooked it all.

So my recommendation is to shoot for the best tasting food served at a party, regardless if the cost is low.

I need prices so I can compare to Sams Club. You'd be surpirsed at how much stuff at Costco is more expensive than Sams.
They don't list prices because local warehouse prices vary, but the discount is applied across the country.

The funny thing is that if you ask Costco to price match Sam's club online prices, they will tell you to get lost. Sam's club does price match, so I don't even know why Costco is so much more popular among the SD crowd.

Sam's is half the size of Costco, they aren't the same.
That moose cake is delicious, and dense.

Just get the ling ling or bibigo potstickers. Always a hit with my neighbors who don't season their chicken. Or the jalapeƱo poppers. I'd pass on the spring rolls
