Lose Yourself In Sound
The D15 tower speaker features an exclusive 3-way driver configuration with a 1" annealed aluminum dome tweeter, a 5.25" BDSS midrange woofer, and dual 5.25" carbon fiber bass drivers, complemented by dual 8" side-firing passive radiators, for a full-range, room-filling sonic performance.
Proprietary Drivers detailed, balanced audio
Definitive Technology designed the drivers in the Demand Series to deliver a perfectly balanced, precise, musical sound.
Tweeters - Clear, Precise Highs
The D15 couples a laterally offset 1" Aluminum Dome Tweeter with our 20/20 Wave Alignment Lens. We offset the tweeters by 5 degrees, minimizing wave cancellations off the front baffle to deliver a more precise center stereo image and ensure clear, detailed high-frequency performance.
Midrange - Superior Detail & Natural Midrange
The D15's 5.25" patented Balanced Double Surround System (BDSS) mid/bass driver provides greater excursion and output for superior midrange detail and punchier bass compared with other drivers of similar size.
Woofers - Deeper, Cleaner Bass
The D15's 5.25" custom-woven carbon fiber woofers produce superior cone rigidity for deep, evenly extended bass notes while preventing distortion-causing cone deformation that can occur with less rigid materials.
Dual 8" Passive Bass Radiators for visceral bass response
Twin integrated 8" passive bass radiators in each speaker produce superior low-end extension for highly controlled, highly impactful bass.
Audiophile-Quality Crossovers for beautifully balanced au |

I 'm into electronics and took it apart and fixed the ones i could. A key issue is some the transistors has no heat sink, and started to burn out which is probably why it failed. but they are made poorly.
The speakers are about 400 each on sale but they try to charge about 360 for a small amp that's the collective cost of 30 max to produce. They also usually stop carrying parts. Also taking it a part you need to be careful they have limited protection on the back of the board, and high voltage caps. It's pretty much junk.
I just don't think are good designs with built in amps doubly so with a company like this. My learning is It's better to buy a separate sub for longevity. Definite technology isn't a premium company anymore and they don't support anything they are indeed rude. It's alsoa pain to dispose of these they are big and it's a waste. I replaced it with some Klipsch which a lot of people hate but the people in my family found the klipsch sounded better they were cheaper anyway and i've had them for 10 years with no issues. its' fine if you hate klipsch many do, but i'd just get something else. I'm just brining that up because even a mass brand like klipsch sounded better in my room i got their higher end ones the 280f. they were about 300 each. I bought an independant sub. much better IMO.

I really enjoyed listening to music on wharfedale as there treble is not on the face kind but for home theater that is what I prefer. I have moved to Klipsch RP line and I am quiet happy with the HT performance. I still have diamond 10.2 for music.
RP do not have the siblance of my old yamaha so I can still listen to music for much longer but still have the needed crispness in treble for those glass and bullet sound to be life like.
Just something to keep in mind.

I bought a set of definitive technology speakers. 4 of the 8020's after a few years the amps started to fail. I had heard before i bought them they stand behind them, but they really don't. You can't get parts and they are pretty rude if you call. One started failing after 4 years and the rest after that.

I think you can get away with another brand of rears since they are mostly special effects

Reading reviews and specs isn't a very accurate way of figuring that out IMO.
How does this one compare with Klipsch?
The RP's are much more on the bright side and easier to drive.
These are much more laid back, to the point if they don't have enough power may sound muddy.
Listening to them would be the best way to find out which sound you prefer between the two.
