These were great for the first 2 washes but then turned into a fleece blanket texture... No longer soft, and more lumpy.

Yea. Lots of soft lint to clog the drains, and dryer. BUT . . as with any new cotton bath towels . . new kitchen cotton towels . . or cotton work towels . . Wash Them Before You Use Them - cold wash, minimum detergent . . AND only wash a few. Any new real towels will 'shed'. Do Not overwork your washer or dryer trying to do them all at once. IMHO - If you get towels that do not need washing before use . . you bought a loser . . no absorbability . . and a soaking wet towel. At this price, and my (unforgotten) experience . . an Awesome buy (at what I paid for them).
Been using for a month now. Good drying, still soft, and best I have had in years. For me, best buy ever, so far. If you don't like them - Tell Us, and tell us why after you use them . . 'Did you buy them?' . . 'Did you try them?' . . Tell us in your comments if you have or have not. Do Not bitch about them if you have not. - - - IMHO.
