OfficeDepot.com offers the APC® 8-Outlet Uninterruptible Power Supply, 1000VA/600 Watts, BX1000M-LM60 [officedepot.com] on sale for $97.99. Add the UPS to your cart and choose Store and Curbside Pickup to save another $10 for a net cost of $87.99 plus applicable sales tax. YMMV on store availability.

There's nothing wrong with using power strips. Just make sure the total load doesn't exceed the max of the unit, or it'll shut off

I read that plugging a power strip(not a surge protector) into the clean side of one of these isn't recommended. How do you safely deal with the crowded receptacles on the UPS itself? Things like my modem and router use bricks, which take up at least 2 slots each.

It's not a big deal if you're careful you're not overloading it above the maximum wattage for the UPS. But I use little 6" extension cords for mine. You can get a pack of them pretty cheap on Amazon.

This is just general 'catch-all' advice to try to prevent overloads. As others have said, just make sure you're not going to be pulling >1500W

does anyone know these APC UPS use 1x - 12 volts or 2x - 12 volts = 24 volts battery.

NVM, I found the datasheet, which used one 12 volts battery.
https://www.apc.com/us/en/product...-warranty/

I was hoping for 2x 12 volts because it is more stable and lasts a little longer.

Bought from earlier post same price, but: offered free delivery, and a 20 virtual Visa card (did not require 'require' store pickup). Bought on 3/31, early morning. Check/search previous posts, you may get lucky. Was what I needed.

This is literally the same deal as the other frontpage deal. People were already talking about the $10 off for instore pickup in that thread.
