There's nothing wrong with using power strips. Just make sure the total load doesn't exceed the max of the unit, or it'll shut off

It's not a big deal if you're careful you're not overloading it above the maximum wattage for the UPS. But I use little 6" extension cords for mine. You can get a pack of them pretty cheap on Amazon.

NVM, I found the datasheet, which used one 12 volts battery.

The general lifespan of a UPS electronics is eight to ten years, Batteries last for three to five years depending upon site condition.
