Heads up. NO DOLBY VISION.
That is the least of your issues with this TV

Keep in mind the size for the price

I was going to buy this TV. I did my research. definitely look for something else if you're looking for OLED quality. I suggest the SONY X90 if you're not wanting to break the bank on OLED.

Any deals on the oled 80 inch?
Watching sports would be so much fun if they didn't get pixelated

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

Some of these comments are comical. Everyone knows that you are not getting OLED quality for a TV of this size at this price. The people who are considering this TV are not enamored by the best quality picture. Some people are satisfied with a very large TV that has decent enough quality to enjoy TV shows and movies. They are not looking for anything more than that. We all know you can spend more (at this size A LOT more) to get a TV with a better picture. That is not in some people's budget. They may not be looking for anything close to OLED quality and there is nothing wrong with that. Nor are they looking to get a better quality 65" TV at this price either. This is a solid 86" TV for less than $1,100. Nothing more, nothing less.

Everything is magnified on an 86" set. Pixels are huge. Poor motion is more prominent. It's a decent set for daytime tv with a very good feed. Such as apps that broadcast in 1080p and 4k. It's terrible with cable at 720p or 1080i, and worse in a dark room for movies. Most end up returning and spending more for better contrast, black levels, and brightness. LG makes great OLED sets. But very average LCD sets. This also is edge lit, and on such a large tv, will show up in dark scenes and on black bars.

Thank you! This is me and this is why I bought this exact TV and we couldn't be happier. Also, I only paid $999.00, so it made a sweet deal even sweeter!

I also own this set, $1000 BF, came with streaming credits. I do see the edge lighting show through the grayish blacks during non 16:9 movies. Dark scenes don't look very good. Still happy with the set for the price.

Don't expect a Lamborghini with a Honda Civic price tag!

Bought this around xmas for $999 plus tax at BJs... quality just isnt there. My 8 year old curved samsung 65 had better quality than this 86 lg. I ended up getting an LG C2 and havent looked back. Granted you cannot compare prices, but i was able able to get an insane deal which was simply a no brainer. Anyways, if you are in desperate need, i suppose this tv isnt terrible, but again, my 8 year old curved samsung had better quality. My suggeation would be to go smaller but with samsung if non oled, or go oled with samsung once larger sizes become avail, or sony oled, or lg oled. Sony 80j was my preference but the price i got the lg c2 was again just a no brainer so i got it and moved on while setting up a return with bjs

Those of you who owned this TV and returned it. Did you by any chance try to calibrate/fine tune it any?
