Enameled is for people who want the great heat distribution and retention of cast iron, but don't want the seasoning and maintenance requirement that typically comes with it.

Le creuset is much higher quality. Studies have found cheaper enameled cast iron can leach metals into your foods.

Got an Amazon Commercial Enameled Cast Iron Skillet that looks nearly the same for $10. What makes this better?

Enameled is kind of dumb, imo. No real advantage over a stainless steel or cast iron combo.

In addition to the points ElatedSparrow brought up, another pro is the ability to cook acidic sauces and food. Bare cast iron is fine for many things, but when you start dealing with acidic sauces and the like, at best it will eat away at the seasoning; at worst it will accelerate leaching metals into your food.

Can't read the pay walled article. I really want to since it ends right at Lodge being one of the worst. That'd ruffle a lot of lodge fanboys. I'd also like to know if they detected more than just iron leaching.

But let's be real here. A $10 enameled cast iron pan is probably going to still be infinitely better for you than a $10 nonstick pan. Assuming you toss the enameled pan once the enamel is damaged.

I can attest to the quality of Le Creuset as we received a Dutch oven as a wedding gift. It's held up quite well after moderate usage for 8 or so years. I believe their warranty is one of the 'forever' types so if you have any issues they fix or replace it. You can read on, but if you take care of your stuff and want quality then this might be for you. I like the idea of less maintenance like with traditional cast iron, having to keep it seasoned and coated in oil. All the do's and don'ts...careful with cooking acidic foods on, don't use soap on it. Blah blah blah. I generally do whatever I want and just reseason it when it needs it...keep oil on it so it doesn't rust and it'll last a life time as long as you don't drop it.

Someone just posted a primer on taking care of them and it's identical to the care tips for cast iron 💀

So you're telling me the only advantage is for acidic foods and tomato sauce? Throw me any stainless steel pan in the world and I'm good.
As an owner of several bare cast iron pans and 2 Le Creuset Dutch ovens, I can tell you personally that the maintenance of the enameled cookware is far less than bare cast iron. It also does not require several coats of oil for the initial seasoning like bare cast iron.

If you don't see a use for it and prefer stainless, knock yourself out. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So no issues just wash everytime with soap and leave to out to air dry is fine with these?

I towel dry and then leave them on the counter overnight just to make sure they're fully dry, but yeah, pretty much.
