once upon a time they snuck additional transactions of a dollar on people's credit cards without their knowledge. If you're paying thru ebay you should be ok, with that being said return shipping is not free and they may charge a 15% restocking fee on opened items

5700x is 8c/16t, offers better multicore performance than the 12100f.

12400f is a more comparable product

Depends on your monitor. For 1080p high fps you might want to get something like 5800x3d for best performance. Anthing above like 1440p or 4k 5700x works perfectly fine.

This is my current set up. It crushes any game, but I am wondering if the 5800x3d would show higher fps.

it would be 1440p and and/or 4k. Looking to stick with 4k though.

It's probably not worth it at 1440p or 4k gaming, but at 1080p.

Nvidia driver issues:

Yes it'll work but I'd going by these articles, you will be CPU bottlenecked and Nvidia overhead issues needing more CPU power.

For example, the 6950XT is faster than the 4090 when both are paired with the same Ryzen 5600(CPU).

It should work "well" but the 5700x will likely be a bottleneck (depending on the game). If you want to maximize your GPU prob have to aim higher like a 5800X3D at minimum.

Just bought this for $180-ish a few weeks back. Gets most of the performance of a 5800x without the power usage.
For heavy productivity (rendering, encoding, compiling, etc...) you'll see a little difference between this and the 5800x. But for games it's practically identical performance.

What's nice about the 5700X compared to the 5800X is it runs cooler and uses less power. I currently have a ryzen 3600 and I'll be keeping an eye on the 5700x sometime later this year

I don't think you will see much difference. What is your use case? 1080p esports?
mostly family 1080p video editing. no complaint on my 5600G current performance tho, just wondering whether it's going to speed up my workflow or not.

This plus a MSI B550-A PRO has been $317 for months. This is about the same price if you're looking for a comparable mobo.

Best price I've seen yet for CPU. It's a good offering based on its specs. If you can find a decently priced X570 / B550 MB to match then you should be set.

If you are buying this for gaming save your money and get a 5600. The extra 2 cores are not going to be used in games at all. Take the few bucks you save and put it toward a better GPU which will have a greater effect on gaming than extra unused cpu cores.

It's only a 30 dollar difference.

as others have said this isn't true

i3 12100f is an i3 tier cpu from 2022.

5700x is a slightly worse 5800x, which is a ryzen 7 (i7) tier cpu from 2020.

they are not competing against each other and aren't even from the same release cycle
Slightly worse isn't even accurate. I chose the 5700x over the 5800x because of the tdp.
