These are great watches for this price. I have a regular 6 sapphire and love it. Had it for almost 6 months and no complaints. Buttons over a touchscreen is a great design, especially if you plan on doing anything active. It still gets regular updates from Garmin and the phone and PC apps work great. My only complaint is the charging cable is short. But I snagged a set of two for under ten bucks so that problem was an easy fix.

The band it comes with is incredibly comfortable but I do recommend snagging some aftermarket bands or straps off AliExpress or some other Chinese direct manufacturer if you want to add a little pizzazz to it.

Glass type depends on your usage. I use mine for boating and Gorilla Glass is better for me. Saphire is harder but more brittle and having a high polish, is overly glarey on the water. Gorilla glass is still very hard and is tougher. It holds up better to more day to day knocking around which is inherent in boating. Sunlight and reflection off the water can be brutal . The lower polish on the Gorilla Glass makes it easier to read in the bright sunlight. Also, all the movement on a boat makes a touch screen very difficult to use making push button the wise choice. Just because saphire is more expensive and considered an upgrade, glass choice really depends on your intended usage.

I have the 6X Pro and highly recommend it for MTB, running and hiking (the activities I use it for). Heart-rate, pace, distance, etc are all accurate. Don't know why some are down-voting this as it is a good price.

Just bought one on Amazon for 380 or so. This looks better. So far I've been very happy with it. Only a couple of light days into it. Looks good on my wrists. Would be big on most, I'd think.

Why is Solar cheaper? I would rather get solar watch? Any comments on why?

Also I have not owned one of these before. I had an instinct Solar in the past. I hated that there were no preloaded maps and I had to plan every trip.

Does this come with preloaded maps and easy to navigate to a point of interest on an impromptu trip with minimal planning? I like to be spontaneous.

Solar is not saphire screen. Still hard to scratch it, but saphire is better.
It does have preloaded map, but its not too good, and i would not use it for navigation unless i was lost in the woods and nothing else was available.. its kinda hard to navigate, and eats battery fast. its easier to use gps for tracking. here is good review of this watch, with navigation examples: https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2019/...eview.html it does have 32gb i think (maybe 16 ?) built in memory, so you can add more maps, music, apps, different watch faces.

Also the original listing is for a 6x (51mm). The solar listing is for a 6 (47mm).

This is a smoking deal, I paid slightly less but would pay this in a heartbeat. The sapphire and DLC are must for me and truly work. I had an Insticnt, then 5 plus, and now this and it's amazing.

Was considering moving to a pixel watch from my Garmin Vivoactive 3, but the battery life of the pixel has kept me on the fence. The battery in my Vivoactive lasts around 5 days. I went ahead and bought one of these Fenix 6X's. Granted it's a few years old, but it's got all the features I'm looking for and the battery life seems amazing.

It's slightly bigger than the Vivoactive (1.2" vs 1.4") and much bigger than the pixel watch, but that's not slmw9im concerned about.

Thanks for posting, OP!

Thanks! So is Solar screen gorilla glass?

Also can anyone else comment on navigation feasibility? Is it really that hard to use navigation in this watch. I camp quite a bit and don't want to get lost when hiking, was looking for something like this especially when phone dies….

Anywho just curious about others thoughts.

Good deal. Have this watch and absolutely love it. This is one of those things I have if it broke on Monday I would have a new one by Friday.

Yes, solar is gorilla glass.
You can use it for hiking, and for tracking your trip and hikes like breadcrumbs.
I tried playing with it but could not really figure out how it works. I guess if you read the manual,
it gets easier Smilie
