You know you're an experienced SDer when you don't trust the sale price on the retailers site (ie $520 off) and instead you look at what you can buy it for elsewhere to know what your REAL savings is 😀😀

The whirlpool got dinged for poor drying of plastic dishes (1/5) and a manually cleaned filter. The Maytag cons were no third rack and noise.

Oh I didn't see it. Thanks!

I can install it myself. I wish there was a discount for denying the install.
Also haven't ordered yet b/c I dunno if I want them to take the old one. It still works, so wondering if I should have them take it or list on craig's... if no one buys it, I'll have a massive thing to dispose! Big Grin

Here I was looking at the $400 Maytag, then the $500 one here, now you're going up to $700.
Meanwhile, my dishwasher works, but it's just old.
You can deny the install. You can also have them leave the old unit behind if you decide to sell it secondhand.

No minus in the price though.

My parents have this dishwasher - it's been great for them for the ~14 months they've had it.
Much quieter than the db rating suggests as well.

That being said, I just bought the clearanced LG LDP7808SS ($499.97 if it's available in your area).

Like most LG washers it has spotty reviews, but for $500 I'm definitely taking a chance on it.
Steam cleaning and same drying method as the bosches FWIW.

Can always add the $90 allstate warrantee within 90 days if you get nervous (I might)

I'll say this about top controls. It's easy to open the dishwasher and forget to press the buttons again (at least on our Bosch) then wake up in the morning to still dirty dishes, because the "press start" button and LED are "inside" the dishwasher, not in the front like I'm used to. Just thought I'd throw this out there.

Can I price match with the January deal? Extra $80 or does Costco not do that

3rd rack is the biggest spec for this. mentioned big on bold on its first spec in the list.
How is the 3rd rack washed? I checked most models with 3rd rack, there is no water jet between the 2nd and the 3rd rack, so the 2nd rack blocks water from the bottom and the 3rd blocks the water from the top.

Does this have a spray arm above the 3rd (top/utensil) rack? I've seen some dishwashers without a top spray arm.

Bosch or nothing
We are on our second bosch (had a brand new one at last house, then this house previous owners had just had one installed). We hate them. Stuff is sopping wet and doesn't get clean. We had a Bosch tech out 6 times at the old house and he had no explanation, except it's "chemical drying" using the right balance of jet dry. A balance we have never been able to achieve. We have plenty of water pressure and keep the filters clean.

That LG does score a lot better with Consumer Reports. Thanks for the tip, just ordered the LG to replace our 15 year old kitchen aid that has two intermittent issues.

Any experts chime in on this vs a budget Bosche unit (which seem to have a good reputation)?
We have a kitchen/den area where we spend most of our time as a family. After moving in about 7 years ago, the dishwasher needed replacing, so we opted for the 38db Bosch. It's still going strong and so quiet you don't know it's running standing next to it. For us, noise rating was our primary concern, but we have found the Bosch to be very energy efficient while cleaning everything we throw at it. Lowes and HD usually run their best sales of the year around Thanksgiving. If you can hold out until then, save up for the Bosch.

We've rarely experienced the drying issue you mention with our Bosch, and half the time ours is out of rinse aid. We usually run it overnight. When we don't we take the few items that may still be a little wet and let them air dry on a rack. Hard water issues can affect the effectiveness of soaps/surfactants. We're very happy with our Bosch dishwasher.
