$429 with Milanese loop is amazing deal. I came from a 4SS and bought a used/mint 7SS about a year ago for $550. The 4 has a $30 trade in now at Apple and T-Mobile, it's ridiculous. Graphite looks awesome.
As you may recall, 5 added always on, 6 added oxygen sensor, 7 added a 1mm size, 8 added the temperature "indicator" and crash detection. 4 and up have 64-bit chipset, 5 and up have the potential for international roaming. Anything else was not really noteworthy.
I have gotten used to the always on display and would not want to miss it now but the 4 otherwise did the trick for health and fitness. I don't find the O2 sensor to be too accurate. the graphite with the Milanese loop looks super elegant, IMHO. But for anyone still on aluminum, this may be the time to upgrade. the SS with sapphire glass is built like a tank and so far has held up amazingly well.
When you receive the watch, put it on the charger and just walk away for the afternoon.... these things have been sitting so long the batteries are super dead. Have bought several in my family and each one had the green snake of death. But leaving on the charger long enough wakes it up and no issues once fully charged.
silver SS or graphite SS??? Torn between the two… can anyone chime in?
I went to apple store to check silver ss and graphite ss, could see the scratches on silver ss easily and was told by apple rep that silver ss shows more scratches. Also, the graphite ss looked better to me 😄
Based on info from apple website https://www.apple.com/watch/compare/, the graphite and gold SS both use same PVD coating, so gold could have same scratch issue as graphite. Seems silver SS is the only SS version without scratching problem.
Went to apple store and the rep told that silver ss scratches more easily, not sure if it's true, may be it depends. I also saw silver ss at store which had ton of scratches easily seen so changed my mind and got graphite.
2/9/23 and delivered on 2/16/23. It does not show as returnable but I bought a face cover at the same time that says returnable until 5/15/23. That either confused her or she was just nice. It would not refund me initially and she said give me a moment and 2 minutes later she changed the price in my purchase history and I got an alert from the Walmart app that basically said the price in my cart had changed and a refund of $32.xx will be applied to the card I used. Either way it's worth a try and I spent maybe 10-15 minutes tops.
I tried two times with two different chat agents and got told they don't do price adjustments, but I could return the item and purchase it again at its current price…

That sucks and makes absolutely no sense they'd do that and I'd try again in the morning and honestly if they'd told me that I'd have returned the watch and not bought another one as I was perfectly fine with my FitBit Watch I bought and actually still prefer it. I'm still trying to convince myself this Apple Watch is something I needed and I'm having a hard time with that. I truly thought I'd be wowed and I'm very disappointed. I also already switched the band out too.

Surprised the deal price is still going. In the past I'd open up alerts in my email a couple hours after the deal had been posted and it would be expired.
If these watches have been sitting in a warehouse for 18 months will that significantly decrease battery health?
I've thought of that too, but your warranty would start now. If the battery fails in the first year, I'd think you'd be able to get it replaced. And if you're buying AppleCare anyway, you'll have plenty of time for the battery to fail and get replaced. Or so I'd think.
I also looked it up on Apple's site, and it seems like it's $79 for a battery replacement. Considering the cost savings on this model, that's not really so bad.
I'm glad to see that some of you who recently ordered were also able to get price adjustments.
